Joseph being in the hospital brought back memories of Sam being in the hospital. Sam was five both times he spent a few days in the hospital in Massachussetts. The second time he had to move to the Children's Hospital an hour away. With no family close and one car, Dave took him out of town and I stayed home with the girls. After all that, we never did find out what was wrong with him. He was on medication and a very restricted diet for a year, but luckily, that ended our trips to the hospital that required overnight stays. We had surprisingly few stitches, broken bones and surgeries over the years and I am very grateful. I can't imagine having a very sick child (like cancer) or serious long term problems.Wednesday, March 4, 2009
